Volunteer Roles
Community Organisers Ltd are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and community-minded person to join our team as a community researcher carrying out a variety of interviews and information gathering exercises across our membership, as a way of gaining further insight.
Skills Required:
- Research experience: use of qualitative research methods such as informal interviews is desirable.
- Experience of working with a wide variety of communities in different settings.
- Understanding of Community Organising (training can be offered to enhance your understanding).
- Ability to use Zoom and other video conferencing platforms.
- Story writing experience.
General Duties:
- Carrying out 60 second interviews across our membership via a video conferencing platform
- Story gathering and writing up stories from across our membership
- Collating information
Community Organisers Ltd are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and community-minded person to join our team as a publicity designer helping us to design publicity materials which showcase stories of community organising across our membership.
Skills Required:
- Experience of using design and editing tools such as Canva and Photoshop
- Experience of designing publicity materials
- Understanding of Community Organising (training can be offered to enhance your understanding).
- Experience of using Social Media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for publicity purposes.
General Duties:
- Using design tools to design a variety of publicity materials to showcase stories of community organising in our membership
- Share the stories via social media
Community Organisers Ltd are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and community-minded person to join our team as an Animator/Filmmaker to help us to create videos which showcase stories of community organising and its principles.
Skills Required:
- Experience of animating
- Experience of film making and creating short videos
- Ability to edit videos
- Understanding of Community Organising (training can be offered to enhance your understanding).
- Experience of using Social Media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to share these videos.
General Duties:
- Using animation and film making to showcase stories of community organising in our membership
- Using animation and film making to outline the principles of community organising
- Share the videos via social media
Community Organisers Ltd are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and community-minded person to join our team as a Social Media Enthusiast helping us to grow our online presence and share the work community organisers are doing across our network.
Skills Required:
- Experience of using Social Media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram in a professional capacity.
- Ability to write engaging blog posts about our work.
- Ability to share the work we are doing on social media.
- Understanding of Community Organising (training can be offered to enhance your understanding).
General Duties:
- Use social media to share our work and stories of community organising across our membership.
- Write blog posts based around current projects, themes and issues we are working on.
Community Organisers Ltd are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and community-minded person to join our team as a Member Organiser helping us to reach out and listen to our members and form a listening campaign around key issues that communities face.
Skills Required:
- Experience of using community organising to reach out and listen to people.
- Experience of bringing people together around common concerns.
- Experience of forming strategies within communities to help tackle local concerns.
- Experience of working with a wide variety of communities in different settings.
- Ability to use Zoom and other video conferencing platforms.
General Duties:
- Support the National Member Organiser by setting up 1-to-1 calls as a way of listening to our members and identifying common concerns.
- Help the National Member Organiser to bring a working party together to start formulating a strategy to address these concerns.
Community Organisers Ltd are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and community-minded person to join our team as an Event’s Organiser helping to plan CO21.
Skills Required:
- Experience of planning events in a professional capacity for a large number of people.
- Experience of using online sites such as Eventbrite to set up events and monitor the sign up/registration process to such events.
- Experience of booking venues and catering.
- Ability to use Zoom and other video conferencing platforms.
- Understanding of Community Organising (training can be offered to enhance your understanding).
General Duties:
- Help with the event booking process including sign up and registration and membership enquiries related to this.
- If using a physical venue, help find and book a suitable venue and catering for the event.
- If carrying out the conference online, help set up the various Zoom meetings and send links to attendees via Eventbrite.
