ACORN Communities (Sheffield)

ACORN is a federation of locally accountable community organising groups, which has been growing in England since 2014. In Sheffield, ACORN's work began with organising amongst private renters across the city.

As a Social Action Hub, ACORN Sheffield will be focusing on three areas of the city – Nether Edge & Sharrow Ward (around the London Road and Abbeydale road area), Burngreave Ward (Pitsmoor) and Manor Castle Ward (City Road), although training will be available to anybody in Sheffield wanting to learn more about community organising. Issues which have already arisen through door-knocking include housing, litter, community cohesion and low pay.
