Organising for Networks, Membership Bodies and Social Movements

This session, led by Nick Gardham, will look at how and why community organising has proven to be instrumental in driving meaningful transformation when used as a strategy when building networks, membership bodies and social movements.

We will hear how social movements and membership bodies are embedding community organising in their work.

Nikki Williams – Head of Campaigning at the Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts, will explain why they have put community organising at the heart of their strategy and, who we have been working with to train and support their 100 community organisers across their network.

We will also be joined by Clare Farrell (one of the co-founders of XR) who will share her reflections, on how and why they are seeing social movements such as XR and others starting to explore community organising practice to strengthen and deepen the relationships across their networks.

If you've got a great story about community organising and the positive impact it is having in your community we would love to hear from you.
