Glenn Jenkins from Marsh Farm Outreach hosts this session outlining the grassroots work of Marsh Farm Outreach.
Marsh Farm Outreach (MFO) are an activist and community development organisation who have helped transform the face of the Marsh Farm estate in Luton, UK, one of the poorest areas in England.
In this talk, Glenn will:
- give us some of the colourful history of MFO
- share some of the obstacles they have encountered
- show how they have challenged authority
- outline how they enabled the local community to self-organise and build alternative means of community economic development
