Stacy Gardham

Operations Officer

I support the team to deliver the operational aims of the organisation whether that be delivering the core communications, supporting membership and website administration or collating, and writing various blogs and publications.

My background is very much rooted in the community. I completed a master’s degree at Bristol University in Ethnicity and Multiculturalism, carrying out research with young Muslim women living in Bristol. This led to my role as a Project Worker for Girlguiding UK; helping to make Girlguiding more inclusive. I reached out to women from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds across Bristol supporting them in setting up projects to offer skills, opportunities, and activities for young women in the area.

I then moved on to work as a Project’s Officer for Bath and North East Somerset (BANES) Council in their Stronger Communities Team supporting people across BANES to have a say in their area and be at the heart of decision making. This is where I first came across the concept of community organising, commissioning this work across 3 areas in BANES.
