Issue Based Organising

Issue-based community organising is an approach to addressing social and political challenges by mobilising communities around a specific issue.

This form of organising is increasingly becoming adopted by single issue groups and social movements, such as those focussed on climate change, racial justice and lgbtq+ rights, to strengthen their organising base by deepening the relationships that they hold with their members and developing more inclusive strategies that reach out beyond their existing memberships or networks.

This short guide sets out what Issue Based Organising is, the steps that are taken to develop a successful issue based organising strategy and case studies.
