Jess is a community organiser at English for Action, an ESOL charity in London. She teaches migrants and refugees English and supports them to take action on common concerns. She has supported students to take collective action to improve poor housing conditions, low wages and funding cuts to adult education. She is influenced by popular education approaches and participatory pedagogy.
